Introduction Japanese version
Socie-economic Systems Laboratory

Modern society faces varied and complex resource, environmental, urbanization problems among others. Society must confront these problems in a systematic and rigorous manner. Business must incorporate environmental considerations in their long range planning. Hence society needs to train prospective engineers and other specialists to confront, think about, and discover ways of overcoming these problems. This laboratory provides students with the opportunity to develop the skills they will need to confront these problems. The problem focuses on how to plan, design, and manage the socio-economic systems of our modern complex societies. Most of the courses in the program have a planning and management science focus. Students are required to conduct a research project in an area which interests them. Excellent students may continue their studies at the doctoral level.
